A National Celebration of Recovery, Community and Hope
For more than 13 years, the Recovery Games has brought people together from across the UK to celebrate recovery through sport, teamwork and shared purpose. What began in Doncaster as a grassroots response to stigma and exclusion has grown into one of the UK's most recognised recovery celebrations.
Today the Recovery Games is entering a new chapter as an independent Community Interest Company and Lived Experience Recovery Organisation. Led by people who understand recovery from the inside out, our mission is to make recovery visible, build stronger communities and create spaces where hope can thrive.

Warriors Pool

The Recovery Games are back, and the excitement is higher than ever! Due to the massive, record-breaking demand for team places last year, we want to make sure the selection process is as fair, open, and transparent as possible.
To give every community an equal shot at taking the field, we are launching The Warriors’ Pool—our official ballot system.
👥 The Team Breakdown
To honor the spirit of the games and support our vital network, we have room for exactly 40 teams to compete this year:

10 Reserved Places: Automatically awarded to defend the titles of last year’s Top 3 winning teams, alongside our essential local area partners and prison teams (who require advanced logistical planning).

30 Ballot Places: Up for grabs for everyone else right here in The Warriors' Pool!
📋 The Warriors' Ground Rules & Fair Play
Before you throw your hat in the ring, please make sure your team meets our event criteria:

The Spirit of the Games: This is a celebration of community and resilience. All teams must be made up of individuals with lived or living experience of recovery, or those who are actively supporting them (family, friends, allies, or service professionals).

Team Size: You need a minimum of 8 members to compete. There is no maximum limit—bring your whole community to cheer and rotate through the games!

💡 Top Tip—Team Up to Maximize Your Chances! Because demand is so high, we highly recommend partnering up with other local recovery groups or support services in your area to form one joint team. This is a fantastic way to meet the 8-person minimum, pool your resources, and build a stronger community squad!

⚖️ One Ballot Per Team: To keep things 100% fair for everyone, only one ballot entry per team will be accepted. Duplicate entries or multiple submissions for the same group under different names will be removed before the draw.

The Location: Sandall Park, Doncaster.

The Commitment: This is a full-day event. All teams must be on-site no later than 9:00 AM for briefings and must be able to commit to staying until approximately 5:00 PM.

The Cost: To help us combat rising event costs and ensure every single drawn spot is fully utilized, there is a nominal fee of £100 per team. You do not pay this to enter the pool. This fee is only due once your team has been successfully allocated a place in the live ballot to officially secure your spot.
📅 Key Dates & The Road to the Games

📅 3rd July — The Warriors' Pool Opens: The portal opens! Fill out the quick form below to place your team’s name into the pool. No player rosters or fees are needed yet—just your team name and a main contact person.

📅 10th July — The Pool Closes: The window locks. Make sure your team is in the pool before midnight to ensure you're in the running.

📅 13th July at 8:00 PM — The LIVE Facebook Ballot Draw: Tune in live on our Facebook page as we randomly draw the 30 ballot teams! All 40 competing teams will be officially drawn into 10 groups of 4.
⚔️ Game Day: What Awaits the Chosen 40?
If your team is drawn, you will move from the pool to official registration. On game day, your group of 4 will battle it out side-by-side. Every single team will face 10 epic Recovery Games Arena challenges, testing your speed, strategy, and teamwork, plus 2 additional surprise bonus challenges on the day!
